Tried to follow all the Twitter bs and couldn't find 5 tech leaders to follow. It just looks like lots of ads. 503 Tweets and 500 look like ads. This is just time consuming stuff. Sorry. I'm not buying into the Twitter stuff.
I've had a Twitter account since the summer of '08. NYT had a short article about how a guy in Egypt had an account--was arrested and tweeted "Arrested". I liked the back-up plan on this and signed up in case my daughter, Ann, who was headed for Ghana needed to let a bunch of folks know right away that she was in danger. Tweeted about 3 times to practice and forgot about it when she returned. End of story.

Classes are up and running
We're now into September and all of my classes are up and running. We've already done three labs in Physical Science. Yeah for Mrs. Maddox who brings so much to the class with all of her experiments and hands-on learning. Learning is taking place, definitely, but not through the text book--it's all through experiences and discusssions and even Mythbusters.
When all of the permission slips are in and we know who can be posted, we'll be establishing a Facebook group page for our 9th grade science classes.
Hopefully, I'll remember to post a link to this page on our Edline accounts. Parents and students, feel free to have a voice on this blog.
Only four days this week, ending with a computer lab on Friday.

First Person to Blog
This is a challenge to my Physical Science classes. Be the first 10 students to blog and get 10 points for the effort. Mrs. Maddox and I have already reviewed opinion and fact, lab safety rules, and surveyed the class regarding their internet use. Be one of the first 10 bloggers at this site by answering this question:
Who would win at Jeopardy: Einstein, Newton, or Bill Gates? Defend your answer.

New Year, New Blog
A new school year, new adventures--and new technology for me. I have written on other blogs, but this is the first one I have established. Overwhelmed and under deadlines--it's like hitting a happy medium.
This is the place for everyone to write, interact, learn, and voice what is good, what needs work, and what needs to be dropped completely. It is our bulletin board, memory board, and idea board.
Students, parents, teachers, administrators, and passers-by: please feel free to put fingers to keys and let everyone know your thoughts, suggestions, and comments about any topic--science or not.
Please be appropriate and know that this is a public forum.
